NATIONS LEAGUE: Champion France face defeat against Croatia.

World Champions France failed to qualify for the final four of the Nations League when they faced defeat by 1-0 at home to Croatia as they stayed winless in the competition on Monday.

In this Nations League, France remains winless, they have now lost two games and drawn two. Where as in the table of points, France are at the bottom of Group 1 with just two points.

After beating Austria in Copenhagen by 2-0, Denmark stays at the top with nine points and now they are out of reach from France, who are in danger of being knocked out from the League, with two games left in the group. Austria holds the third position on four points.

Croatia dominated the France players in the field throughout the match. Their defensive skill did not gave any chance to the rivals to take an opportunity to score a goal.

Croatia grabbed the momentum of the match from first, after five minutes when Luka Modric converted a penalty after Ibrahima Konate fouled Ante Budimir.

It was Modric’s 22nd goal in 152 games for Croatia.
