Lorenzo Musetti described it as a "magical day" after defeating Taylor Fritz in five sets, setting up a Wimbledon semi-final showdown with seven-time champion Novak Djokovic.
Musetti staged a remarkable comeback after being a set and a break down to defeat American 13th seed Taylor Fritz 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 in an exhilarating Wimbledon quarter-final.
Reflecting on the victory, Italy's Musetti commented, "After the birth of my son, I will place this as the second most important moment. Of course, for my career, it's the best day of my life."
Novak Djokovic advanced to the semi-finals without playing, as his opponent Alex de Minaur withdrew due to a hip injury.
Musetti faces Djokovic on Friday, although he has only won one of their six previous encounters, including losses at the French Open in the last-16 in 2021 and in the third round in May.
