The All-India Senior Selection Committee has officially confirmed that Mohammad Shami has been included in India's T20 World Cup squad as a replacement of injured Jasprit Bumrah.
Jasprit Bumrah was earlier ruled out of the T20 World Cup because of a back injury, which had also kept him out of the Asia Cup.
The BCCI confirmed that the seasoned Mohammed Shami will join the team in Brisbane as the 15th member of the India's men squad.
Additionally, pacer Mohammed Siraj and allrounder Shardul Thakur have been selected as the back-ups and soon they will join the team in Australia.
The Indian team will be based in Brisbane where it will feature in two T20 World Cup warm-up matches against Australia on October 17 and New Zealand on October 19.
