McLaren is considering using team orders to help Lando Norris in his bid to win the Formula 1 World Championship and challenge Max Verstappen.
McLaren will discuss potential team orders after Oscar Piastri finished second in the Italian Grand Prix, ahead of Lando Norris, though both were beaten by Ferrari's Charles Leclerc despite starting from the front row.
Max Verstappen, currently in an uncompetitive sixth place, has said that winning both championships seems unlikely for him. Norris has narrowed Verstappen's lead to 62 points with eight races remaining and a maximum of 232 points still up for grabs.
To catch up, Norris needs to close the gap by an average of 7.75 points per race, slightly more than the difference between first and second place.
