McKenna Faces Fresh Brazilian Rival in Upcoming UFC Comeback.

British strawweight Cory McKenna has a new opponent for her fight on October 12 at UFC Fight Night 244 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Cory McKenna was originally set to battle Brazil's Polyana Viana at UFC Fight Night, but now she’ll face another Brazilian contender, Julia Polastri.

At just 25 years old, McKenna has an impressive record of eight wins and three losses in her professional career.

Polastri, on the other hand, comes in with a strong record of 12 wins and four losses.

McKenna's last fight in March ended in a defeat against Jacqueline Amorim, but she's ready to bounce back and prove herself in the octagon once again. Fans can expect an exciting matchup as both fighters look to make their mark!

Jacqueline Amorim secured a quick victory over Welsh fighter Cory McKenna with an early armbar submission.

This match was significant for McKenna as it marked her return after dealing with a respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), long COVID, and several concussions.

In August 2022, McKenna made headlines by becoming the first woman in UFC history to win with a Von Flue choke submission. She earned her place in the UFC through Dana White's Contender Series in 2020.

Meanwhile, Polastri made her UFC debut in 2023 after previously trying to qualify in 2021 without success.
