Dana White got the idea while attending a U2 concert in Las Vegas last year.
It wasn’t U2’s performance that inspired UFC president Dana White, but the impressive venue where they played—the Sphere, the world’s largest spherical building, with LED screens so massive they can be seen from space.
Inside the 17,385-seat venue, more screens create an immersive fan experience, sparking White's vision to host a UFC event in the same spectacular style.
Nearly a year later, that vision is a reality. The UFC will host "the greatest live combat sports show" at Riyadh Season Noche UFC, celebrating Mexican Independence Day.
The main event features bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley defending his title against Merab Dvalishvili.
Mexico's Alexa Grasso will also defend her flyweight title against Valentina Shevchenko in the UFC's first-ever women's trilogy fight.
