Jude McAtamney, a former Derry Under-20s Gaelic footballer, recently saw his dream come true as he signed with the NFL team, the New York Giants.
Following last week's NFL draft, where the league's top college prospects get picked by its 32 teams, Jude McAtamney secured a contract with the New York Giants, a four-time Super Bowl champion.
The Ulster Under-20s titleholder from Derry will be vying for a spot on the roster alongside Graham Gano.
McAtamney shared his excitement, saying, "We verbally agreed on Saturday, which brought clarity. The feedback from the Giants since my workout with them made me quite optimistic about this opportunity."
Reflecting on the moment he received the offer, McAtamney recalled, "It was about 6:30 US time when I got the call confirming the offer.
Without hesitation, my agent and I accepted it because the Giants felt like the right fit based on our previous interactions."
