Multi Sports Paris 2024 Olympics
Posted 3 months agoAn emotional Adam Peaty took home the silver medal after Italy's Nicolo Martinenghi captured a spectacular gold in the 100m breaststroke final in Paris.
Adam Peaty, 29, was in a prime position with just 25 meters remaining, but was narrowly edged out by 0.02 seconds, tying for second with American Nic Fink.
Peaty had been aiming to join the legendary Michael Phelps as the only man to win the same swimming event at three consecutive Olympics.
Despite the heart-wrenching finish, the silver medal marks an incredible comeback for Peaty, who took a break from the sport to address issues with alcohol and mental health since his last gold in Tokyo.
