Jorge Martin of Spain clinched an exhilarating victory at the French Grand Prix, further strengthening his lead in the MotoGP championship standings.
Jorge Martin, riding for Pramac Racing, initially started in pole position but was overtaken by Italy's Francesco Bagnaia on the opening lap of Sunday's race.
The two riders fiercely battled for the lead throughout the race until Martin, aged 26, surged ahead with just six laps remaining, ultimately securing the victory.
Marc Marquez, a six-time MotoGP championship winner racing for Gresini Racing, made an impressive climb from 13th on the grid to claim second place, narrowly beating Ducati's Bagnaia.
"I had doubts early in the race, but I managed to prove to myself and everyone else that I had what it takes to win today," remarked Martin after his triumph.
Martin's win, coupled with his victory in Saturday's sprint, widens his lead over Bagnaia in the championship standings to 38 points.
