Markram Unbothered by Batting Slump: ‘Part of the Game’s Challenge’.

Aiden Markram has had an eventful 2024. As a captain, he's excelled, leading Sunrisers Eastern Cape to back-to-back SA20 titles and guiding South Africa to their first-ever men's T20 World Cup final in June. 

The T20I series loss to West Indies was a minor setback in an otherwise stellar year.

Markram's batting form has dipped this year. Aside from a brilliant century against India in January and an important unbeaten 69 in an ODI against Afghanistan last week, his performances have been underwhelming. 

His recent knock helped South Africa avoid a 3-0 ODI series loss, but overall, his form has been a concern, particularly in T20Is, where he hasn't scored a half-century since October 2022.
