Phil Foden scored and assisted as Manchester City cruised to their first Champions League win of the season, beating Slovan Bratislava with ease.
England midfielder Phil Foden, who has struggled to replicate last season's PFA Player of the Year form, made the most of just his second start this season.
Ilkay Gundogan kicked off Manchester City's win with a deflected goal in the 8th minute, his first since returning to the club. Foden doubled the lead with a calm finish into the bottom corner seven minutes later.
City dominated the game, hitting the woodwork three times through Jeremy Doku, Foden, and Gundogan. Erling Haaland then added his 11th goal of the season, rounding the keeper and scoring just before the hour mark.
Foden set up James McAtee for his first City goal in the 74th minute with a clever flick. Pep Guardiola praised McAtee, saying, "We’re all happy for him. He’s a great kid, and this will give him confidence to know he’s part of the group."
