Captain Rachel Malcolm focuses on "counting the moments" instead of caps as she gears up for her 50th appearance for Scotland against Italy on Saturday.
The back-row player will start in the WVX2 opener in Cape Town as Scotland begins their title defense from last season's victory in South Africa.
Malcolm describes reaching 50 caps as "surreal" and is excited to be part of a growing Scotland team.
"I'm really fortunate to have had incredible experiences, along with some tough times that have made those memories even more meaningful," said the 33-year-old.
"Running out for my 50th is special for me, but it’s even more significant for those who have supported me through challenges. I feel lucky to have experienced the transition from the non-professional era to appreciating what we have now."
