Maidstone United has appointed George Elokobi as their new manager.

Former Wolves defender, George Elokobi has been officially appointed as the new manager of Maidstone United until the end of next season. This is for the first time George Elokobi has been appointed as a full-time coach.

Previously, Elokobi was the caretaker boss of Maidstone United following Hakan Hayrettin's sacking in January.

The former Wolves defender and title-winning Stones club captain says he's taken on a huge challenge after landing his first job in management at the age of 37.

But he's determined to bring success back to the Gallagher Stadium after a difficult season that looks set to end in relegation.

The Stones are currently bottom of the fifth tier after a tough season. They are 13 points from safety but will be hoping their new boss can inspire them to an upturn in form.
