Luca Brecel displayed dominating performance and has claimed a sensational extended 15-10 lead over Mark Selby at the World Snooker Championship 2023 final.
The Belgian began the third session at 9-8 ahead, but it was Selby who was feeling better overnight after winning the last three frames on Sunday, including making a 147 along the way.
The first-time finalist was clearly unfazed, though, and knocked in a string of big breaks to reopen a three-frame lead and go within three of the title.
Having not made a century in the first 17 frames, Brecel made four in the next eight, with efforts of 141, 119, 113 and 101.
Brecel shook off any disappointment from Sunday night immediately, looking superb from the off on Monday afternoon.
He knocked in a 113 in the first frame of the day and had made two more centuries within an hour, knocking in a 101 and a 141 to head into the mid-session interval 13-8 ahead.
