Los Angeles Pushes for Inclusion of Para-climbing in 2028 Olympics.

The organizers of the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics have formally requested the International Paralympic Committee to include Para-climbing in the event's program.

If approved, Para-climbing will mark its inaugural appearance on the Paralympic platform. The proposal is set for a vote by the IPC governing board on June 26th.

"We are grateful to the International Paralympic Committee for considering this addition to the 2028 games," said Janet Evans, chief athlete officer for Los Angeles 2028. "This presents a unique opportunity to expand the reach of elite adaptive sports, allowing more athletes to showcase their talents on the world's grandest stage."

However, the 2028 program will not include Para-surfing, which has stirred some disappointment. Fernando Aguerre, president of the International Surfing Association, remarked, "While we are disappointed by this decision, surfers are resilient. Just like missing a wave, we'll turn and paddle harder for the next one."
