Lionesses has been nominated for the World Team of the Year award (Laureus Awards).

England's Lionesses have been officially nominated for the World Team of the Year award (Laureus Awards) for their excellent title
winning performance and claiming the Euro 2022 title.

The Lionesses are shortlisted for the World Team of the Year alongside the likes of World Cup winners Argentina and Champions League winners, Real Madrid. France's men's rugby team, NBA side the Golden State Warriors, and Formula 1 world champions Red Bull are also included in the shortlisted nominees.

A 2-1 triumph against Germany gave Sarina Wiegman's outfit their first major international honor and the Dutch coach was pleased to see their performance recognized.

The title was England's first major football trophy since the men's team won the 1966 World Cup.
