Lijnders Elevated to RB Salzburg Manager from Liverpool Assistant Role.

Liverpool's assistant manager Pepijn Lijnders has taken on a new role as the head coach of Red Bull Salzburg.

41-year-old Pepijn Lijnders, who joined Liverpool back in 2014, is set to take on a new challenge as he moves to Red Bull Salzburg on a three-year contract starting this summer.

Lijnders, currently in his second spell at Anfield, had plans to leave following Jurgen Klopp's departure. However, he's now eager to instill an attacking style at Salzburg, emphasizing a culture of passion and ambition.

Initially under Brendan Rodgers, Lijnders continued as a vital part of Liverpool's staff post-Klopp's arrival in 2015. While he briefly managed Dutch side NEC Nijmegen, he returned to Liverpool after seven months.

Joining him at Salzburg is Liverpool's development coach Vitor Matos, who will serve as Lijnders' assistant manager in Austria's top division.
