Ferrari's Charles Leclerc led the way in the first practice session for the Singapore Grand Prix, outpacing McLaren's Lando Norris.
Leclerc was 0.076 seconds faster than Norris, with Ferrari's Carlos Sainz taking third place ahead of Red Bull's Max Verstappen.
Norris enters the weekend 59 points behind Verstappen in the championship and needs to close that gap to stay in contention for the title.
Last year, Singapore was the only race where Red Bull didn't secure a victory, and the team anticipates a challenging weekend this time as well.
Verstappen reported experiencing understeer during the session, finishing 0.334 seconds behind the leaders.
