Leadership Role Silences Doubts: Lemina's Wolves Captaincy Defies Critics.

Wolves captain Mario Lemina sees his new role as a chance to clear his name, countering past accusations of attitude issues in his career.

Midfielder Mario Lemina was named Wolves captain by boss Gary O'Neil last month, following Max Kilman’s £40m transfer to West Ham.

Previously at Southampton, Lemina faced accusations of attitude problems and received a driving ban in 2018. However, after losing his father in December, Lemina is determined to use his captaincy to reveal his true character.

Reflecting on his past, the 30-year-old, who joined Wolves from Nice in 2023, said: "My father would be proud of me. He knew I was never a bad guy. I’ve worked hard to clear my name. While I made mistakes when I was young and emotional, I’ve never had a bad attitude. People may think otherwise, but my issues were never about my attitude."
