On Thursday at Estadio Algarve, Larne fell 2-1 to Lincoln Red Imps in the first leg of their UEFA Conference League play-off.
Matty Lusty gave Larne the lead in the 15th minute with a long-range strike that VAR confirmed had crossed the line after hitting the crossbar.
The hosts equalized quickly with a goal from Kike Gomez, and Joe scored the winning goal just three minutes before halftime.
Larne is striving to become the first Irish League team to reach the group stage of a major European competition.
The match started slowly at the vast Faro stadium but came alive with Lusty's impressive goal.
