Kohli Makes History: Second IPL Orange Cap Win with Remarkable 741-Run Season.

Virat Kohli claimed the Orange Cap in the IPL 2024, finishing as the top run-scorer with an impressive 741 runs in 15 matches.

Kohli maintained an excellent average of 61.75 and a striking strike rate of 154.69 throughout the season.

Kohli has achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the sole Indian player to secure the Orange Cap twice. His first win came in IPL 2016, where he showcased his incredible batting prowess with a staggering 973 runs throughout the campaign.

Now, in IPL 2024, Kohli has once again proven his mastery with the bat, earning the Orange Cap for his outstanding 741-run season. This achievement solidifies his status as one of the most prolific and consistent batsmen in IPL history.

Kohli heads into the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 in excellent form, having hit five half-centuries and a century in the IPL season.

Despite his outstanding performance, his team was eliminated by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Eliminator at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad last week.

Looking at the list, only Kohli, Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, KL Rahul, Robin Uthappa, and Sachin Tendulkar have won the Orange Cap. However, none of them have managed to do it twice.

Among the foreign players, Shaun Marsh, Chris Gayle, Michael Hussey, David Warner, Kane Williamson, and Jos Buttler stand out. Gayle holds the record for finishing as the highest-scorer twice (in 2011 and 2012), while Warner has achieved this feat three times (in 2015, 2017, and 2019).

With this latest win, Kohli joins Gayle and Warner in the elite group of players who have won the Orange Cap more than once, showcasing his consistency and prowess in IPL batting.
