Kerber Announces Tennis Retirement Post-Paris 2024.

Three-time Grand Slam champion Angelique Kerber has announced she will retire from tennis following the Paris Olympics.

The 36-year-old German, a former world number one, won the Australian Open and US Open in 2016 and claimed Wimbledon two years later. She earned a silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics but did not compete in Tokyo.

Kerber announced on social media that Paris 2024 will be her final professional tournament. “This might be the right decision, but it doesn’t feel that way,” she said, reflecting her deep love for the sport and gratitude for the memories it has given her.

Kerber made her return to the WTA Tour earlier this season after a maternity leave.
