Wales Rugby has officially announced Scarlets hooker Ken Owens as the new captain of Wales squad for the upcoming Six Nations 2023.

Ken Owens is replacing Justin Tipuric to take up the role as captain of Wales rugby team for the elite tornament.

Coach, Warren Gatland has officially confirmed and named a strong 37-player Wales squad for the 2023 Six Nations.

Dan Biggar, Wyn Jones, Dewi Lake and Liam Williams return to the squad having missed the autumn internationals due to injury, while there are recalls for Leon Brown, Rhys Carre, Rhys Patchell, Aaron Wainwright, Rhys Webb and Owen Williams.

Rio Dyer, Joe Hawkins and Dafydd Jenkins are in line to make their first Six Nations appearances after making their Test debuts last
November.
