Japan Triumphs Over Chile 2-0 in FIH Women's Olympic Qualifiers 2024, Secures Spot in Ranchi Semi-Finals.

Japan secured a 2-0 victory over Chile in the FIH Women's Olympic Qualifier at Ranchi on Tuesday. Scoring a goal in each of the first two quarters, Japan has now advanced to the semifinals.

In just 23 seconds into the game, Kana Urata gave Japan an early lead with a field effort. Later, in the 23rd minute, Miyu Hasegawa doubled the scoreline by converting a penalty corner.

With this victory, Japan secured the second position in Pool A, totalling seven points from three games.

Although Germany also had seven points, they clinched the top spot in the pool due to a better goal difference.

Looking ahead, Japan will face the leaders of Pool B in the semifinals on Thursday, while Germany will take on the second-place team from the other pool.

Japan demonstrated a purposeful performance, initiating their scoring with Urata's penalty corner goal.

Despite missing an opportunity from a second penalty corner, Japan maintained the pressure on their opponents.
