Japan earned a stunning victory over Australia of Pool B in the preliminary round of the 2022 AVC Cup for Women at Pasig City's PhilSports Arena.

After wining the match, Japan claimed their three consecutive wins and secured the top position of Pool B of the preliminary round.

They defeated the Australian by 3-0 (25-4, 25-11, 25-15) straight sets.

Japan's Yuki Nishikawa, Mizuki Tanaka and Miyu Nakagawa contributed 18 points, 16 points and 11 points, which secured their team's victory over Australia.
