Ireland pulled off a thrilling last-minute victory, defeating world champions New Zealand 29-27 in their opening WXV1 match in Vancouver.
Replacement Erin King scored her second try in the final minute to tie the game, and fly-half Dannah O'Brien successfully kicked the crucial conversion off the post.
Ireland scored five tries during the match, while New Zealand dominated possession but had three tries ruled out by the television match official (TMO).
This remarkable win is another key achievement for Ireland, showcasing their revival under head coach Scott Bemand after finishing third in the 2024 Six Nations and defeating Australia at home in September.
