FIFA president Gianni Infantino shared an important information about a new technology to be introduced in the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Semi-automated Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology will be installed to assist the referees with quicker decisions for the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Trails has been done with the technology at the club world cup.

Further Infantino said that the technology succeeded throughout the matches and the progress is quite significant.

After meeting the International Football Association Board, FIFA president Gianni Infantino exclaimed in a press conference that “We tested it at the Club World Cup and it looks very good. We are very satisfied and we will take decision before the tournament."

Pierluigi Collina, chairman of FIFA’s Referees Committee, added: “I’m confident it can go ahead."
