The International team made a stunning comeback on Friday, excelling in the foursomes to tie the Presidents Cup at 5-5 against the United States in Montreal.
Hideki Matsuyama and Sungjae Im led the charge for the International team, scoring seven consecutive birdies to reach eight under after 12 holes, ultimately defeating Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele 7&6—matching the largest victory in Presidents Cup history.
This impressive performance set the stage for Mike Weir's team to turn the tables from Thursday's fourballs. It was the first time since 2003 that the US failed to earn a single point in a session.
Australia's Adam Scott and Canada’s Taylor Pendrith added another win for Weir's side, finishing 5&4 against Sahith Theegala and Collin Morikawa.
Scott now holds the International team record with 22 points in the Presidents Cup, marking his 11th consecutive appearance, although he has yet to play on a winning team in this event, which has been dominated by the US since 1994.
