Injury-Plagued Cilic Makes ATP History with Stunning Comeback Victory.

Former US Open champion Marin Cilic made history by becoming the lowest-ranked player to win an ATP Tour title with an emotional triumph at the Hangzhou Open.

Croatian Marin Cilic, ranked 777th in the world after missing most of the last two seasons due to knee surgeries, entered the Hangzhou Open as a wildcard.

The former world number three hadn’t won an ATP Tour match in 22 months.

Just days before his 36th birthday, Cilic pulled off an impressive victory. He defeated China's Zhang Zhizhen 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-5) to lift the title, marking a remarkable comeback.
