Tokyo Paralympics gold medalist Pramod Bhagat has been suspended for 18 months due to a whereabouts failure, the Badminton World Federation (BWF) announced on Tuesday.
As a result, Bhagat will miss the Paris Paralympic Games.
"On March 1, 2024, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) Anti-Doping Division ruled that Pramod Bhagat had violated BWF anti-doping regulations by committing three whereabouts failures within 12 months," the Badminton World Federation (BWF) stated.
Bhagat, a prominent SL3 para badminton athlete, has since appealed the decision to the CAS Appeals Division, seeking to overturn the suspension.
