Three Indian players competed in the Women’s Hundred following the Asia Cup, but only one made a notable impact as the tournament concluded on Sunday.
Deepti Sharma (London Spirit)
The allrounder had the standout performance among the Indian internationals in the Hundred. Replacing the injured Grace Harris, she played a key role in helping Spirit win their first title.
Recently, she demonstrated her T20 batting skills with an explosive 88 off 60 for UP Warriorz in the WPL. In the Hundred, she continued this aggressive approach, excelling in a finishing role.
In a thrilling match against Oval Invincibles, she contributed 44 runs off 34 balls and took 3 for 18.
A few days later, she scored 37 not out against Northern Superchargers, forming a crucial 77-run partnership with Heather Knight and helping the team secure second place in the standings.
Although she didn’t take any wickets in the Eliminator against Invincibles, she hit the winning six in the final against Welsh Fire, finishing with a six over long-on when four runs were needed from the last three balls.
Out of six innings, she remained unbeaten five times. After being an unused squad member in 2022 and not selected in 2023, she made a striking return to the Hundred with the same team she represented in the inaugural season.
