Indian Women's Hockey Team advanced into the semi-finals of the CWG 2022.

India women's hockey team progressed into the semi-finals after defeating Canada in Group A pool match of the Birmingham Games 2022.

India defeated lower-ranked Canada team by 3-2 in the fourth and final Group A match to qualify for the semifinals of the Commonwealth Games.

Salima Tete (3rd minute) and Navneet Kaur's 22nd minute goals took control of the match till the 22nd minute and have given 2-0 early lead over world no.15 opponents.

In reply Canadian women produced a terrific performance and level the scores through goals from Brienne Stairs (23rd) and Hannah Haughn (39th).

However, India took the lead again in the fourth quarter as Lalremsiami Hmarzote helped her team convert a penalty corner into the winning goal of the match.
