Well balanced Indian women's team defeated Sri Lanka by four wickets in the first ODI of the three-match series at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele, Sri Lanka.
Women in Blue (India) chased the target of 172 runs in just 38 overs. Harmanpreet Kaur and Shafali Verma contributed 44 runs and 35 runs respectively. In the first innings of the match Indian bowlers showed brilliant bowling and packed up Sri Lankan batters at a modest total of 171 runs.
Renuka Singh and Deepti Sharma bagged three wickets respectively while Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Pooja Vastrakar scalped one wicket each.
