Indian badminton team settled for a silver in the mixed team badminton event at the Commonwealth Games 2022.

Indian badminton team clinched a silver medal in the mixed team badminton event of the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. 

The Indian mixed badminton team faced defeat against top seeds Malaysia by 3-1 and had to settle for silver.

This was India's first medal from badminton at the 2022 Commonwealth Games after losing the final 1-3 to Malaysia.

India's duo Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy was defeated in the first match by Malaysia's duo Teng Fong Aaron Chia and Wooi Yik by 21-18, 21-15.

Olympic medalist PV Sindhu was the only shuttler to earn a win in the final clash against Malaysia in the women's singles match. She defeated Malayasia's Jin Wei Goh by by 22-20, 21-17 in the second match to pull India back into the match.

In the third match Malaysia's Ng Tze Yong had a thrilling win over Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth by 21-19, 6-21, 21-16.
