Dinesh Karthik knocked brilliant 55 of 27 while vice-captain Hardik Pandya scored 46 of 31, took India to a fighting total of 169 runs.
Defending a total of 169, the South African batters collapsed to 87 runs for nine in 16.5 overs, in the fourth and penultimate match of the T20I series at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.
The victory also helped India to draw level in the five-match series.
Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were quite impressive with the new ball.
Avesh khan snatched 4 wickets of just 18 runs. Its recorded as his career-best figure. Harshal Patel picked one wicket in two overs giving just three runs. Harshal Patel has emerged as the most economical bowler in the series.
With the splendid performance with bat and ball India thrashed South Africa and won the 4th match by 82 runs, which is an away team's lowest total in T20 internationals in India.
