India’s victory in Chennai, earning them 12 WTC points, solidifies their lead at the top of the table with a percentage of 71.67%, ahead of second-place Australia at 62.50%.
Bangladesh, who previously climbed to fourth after a remarkable 2-0 win against Pakistan, have now fallen to sixth place with a point percentage of 39.29%, trailing Sri Lanka and England.
On the fourth day, Bangladesh started at 158/4, chasing India’s total of 515, with captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and Shakib Al Hasan at the crease.
However, India’s spin pair, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, quickly claimed the last six wickets for just 40 runs.
