At the London Diamond League, Matthew Hudson-Smith broke his own European 400m record, and Keely Hodgkinson set a new national 800m record, showcasing Great Britain's strong Olympic gold medal prospects.

World silver medallist Matthew Hudson-Smith, 29, set the fastest 400m time of the year with 43.74 seconds, just days before the Paris 2024 opening ceremony.

Olympic silver medallist Keely Hodgkinson, 22, set a new world-leading time of 1:54.61 in the 800m, with British teammates Jemma Reekie and Georgia Bell also achieving personal bests.

In the final event at the sold-out London Stadium, American world champion Noah Lyles won the 100m with a personal best of 9.81 seconds, finishing ahead of South Africa's Akani Simbine and Botswana's Letsile Tebogo.
