Olympic 800m champion Keely Hodgkinson will be out for the remainder of the 2024 athletics season due to an injury.
The 22-year-old Keely Hodgkinson had planned to compete in the Diamond League finals in Brussels this September. Hodgkinson had an outstanding year, winning all nine of her 800m races in 2024, including a gold medal at the Paris Games earlier this month.
She shared the news on Instagram: "No more races for me this year. Unfortunately, I picked up a small injury, but I achieved everything I hoped for. Thank you for all the love and support. See you on the track next year."
In 2024, Hodgkinson also defended her European 800m title and set a new national record of one minute 54.61 seconds at the London Diamond League in July.
