Italian 25th seed Lorenzo Musetti faced a tough challenge against the big-serving Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the first set. 

Struggling initially, Musetti adapted his approach and turned the match around, ultimately winning 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, 6-2.

This victory ended a remarkable run for 21-year-old Mpetshi Perricard, who was on the verge of making history as the first lucky loser, man or woman, to reach the singles quarter-finals of a Grand Slam.
