Heartbreak for Laugher: Medal Hopes Shattered.

British diver Jack Laugher admitted that his emotions got the best of him after missing out on a medal in the 3m springboard final at the Paris Olympics.

Jack Laugher, who won bronze in the synchronized event last week, finished seventh in the 3m springboard final at the Paris Olympics, far from his previous Olympic success of silver and bronze.

China’s Xie Siyi and Wang Zongyuan took gold and silver, while Mexico's Osmar Olvera claimed bronze.

A mistake on Laugher's third dive, resulting in an over-rotation and a low score of 35.70 points, dashed his hopes.

Reflecting on the outcome, the 29-year-old said he wasn’t affected by pressure or nerves but by overwhelming adrenaline, leaving him "devastated" and questioning his future in diving.

Laugher finished behind his teammate Jordan Houlden, who took fifth place, trailing Olvera by a significant margin.
