Harrington's Final Farewell: 'No More Mountains' to Climb.

With her second Olympic gold medal proudly draped around her neck, Kellie Harrington concluded her boxing career in spectacular fashion. Her final act was a perfect blend of triumph and grace, capping off a remarkable journey with a flourish that mirrored her storied career.

Kellie Harrington wraps up her boxing career as a two-time Olympic champion, alongside her world and European titles. She stands as one of Ireland's greatest athletes, having added a Paris gold to her Tokyo success and joining an elite group of women—Nicola Adams and Claressa Shields—who have retained their Olympic boxing titles.

Harrington’s victory contributed to Ireland’s record haul of seven medals at the 2024 Olympics, including four gold and three bronze.

This makes it Ireland's most successful Games to date. She joins an exclusive group of Irish athletes, including Pat O'Callaghan and rowers Paul O'Donovan and Fintan McCarthy, as one of only three to retain Olympic gold across a century of competition.
