Hampshire has struck a deal with GMR Group, co-owners of the Delhi Capitals, for the takeover of the County Championship club.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has approved the deal, making Hampshire the first county cricket club to be owned by an overseas franchise.
GMR Group, co-owners of the Delhi Capitals since 2008, initially reached the agreement a year ago.
The deal involves a phased acquisition, with GMR taking a majority stake now and planning to fully own the Southampton-based club within two years.
