Neal Skupski from Britain and his American partner Desirae Krawczyk fell short of claiming their first French Open mixed doubles title. They were defeated in straight sets by Laura Siegemund and Edouard Roger-Vasselin.
In a match that lasted one hour and 40 minutes under sunny skies on Court Philippe Chatrier, Laura Siegemund from Germany and Edouard Roger-Vasselin from France emerged victorious with a 6-4, 7-5 score against Neal Skupski and Desirae Krawczyk.
This triumph at Roland Garros marked a successful debut tournament for the second-seeded pair of Siegemund and Roger-Vasselin.
Siegemund, 36, shared, "This was a last-minute decision. I initially hesitated because I was already committed to singles and doubles, but Edouard reached out to me just two hours before the deadline."
Skupski and Krawczyk, both two-time Wimbledon champions, began the match slowly with a break in the first game.
Despite several opportunities to break back during the first set, they were unable to capitalize as Siegemund and Roger-Vasselin demonstrated resilience in crucial moments.
