Golden Triumph for GB's Aldridge in Kite Sailing.

Great Britain's Ellie Aldridge clinched gold in the women's kite sailing final at Paris 2024.

Ellie Aldridge, 27, became the first-ever Olympic kite champion by winning two races in the final series on Thursday at Paris 2024.

Needing three victories to secure gold, Aldridge carried one win from the opening series and sealed her triumph in a dramatic second race after France's Lauriane Nolot, who led the race, fell into the water, allowing Aldridge to sail past her.

This victory marked Team GB's 13th gold medal at Paris 2024.

Nolot took silver with her two wins from the opening series, while Annelous Lammerts of the Netherlands earned bronze based on her overall points.
