The defending champions, Golden State Warriors clinched sensational victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on opening night by a final score of 123-109 at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
After leading the first half by seven points, Warriors dominated Lakers in the third quarter by 13 points to take a 20-point lead with last quarter remaining.
Golden State Warriors led by Steph Curry, who finished with a line of 33 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals, the Warriors overmatched a Lakers team that looked lost for most of the night during the match.
LeBron James and Anthony Davis scored their typical point totals but did so inefficiently, and the rest of the Laker roster disappointed greatly offensively.
Apart from Curry, small forward Andrew Wiggins dropped 20 points, six rebounds and four assists while shooting guard Klay Thompson registered 18 points, two rebounds and three assists in Warriors' season opening victory.
