Ghana Probes Alleged Para-Athlete Imposters in Norway.

Ghanaian authorities are investigating claims that several supposed para-athletes and their support staff disappeared during a trip to Norway.

A group of 11 individuals allegedly obtained visas to enter Norway under false pretenses, claiming they would compete in the Bergen City Marathon on April 26. They failed to register for the race.

Ghana's National Paralympic Committee (NPC Ghana) stated that these individuals were unknown to them and did not represent their organization. NPC Ghana called the case one of "impersonation and misrepresentation."

They alleged the visas were obtained from the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Accra using forged documents.

NPC Ghana named two people from a disability foundation who facilitated the trip. These individuals have been barred indefinitely from disability sports in Ghana and reported to the police.

The two individuals did not respond to requests for comment.
