GB's Kerr Advances Alongside Gold Medal Contender Ingebrigtsen.

Great Britain's Josh Kerr and rival Jakob Ingebrigtsen are set for their anticipated Olympic gold medal showdown at Paris 2024 after both qualified from their men's 1500m heats.

Josh Kerr, who defeated Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen to win world gold last year, finished with a season-best time of 3:35.83 in the men's 1500m heats at the Stade de France.

Norwegian Ingebrigtsen clocked 3:37.04 for third in his heat, while Neil Gourley qualified in fifth with 3:37.18. British teammate George Mills will compete in a repechage round to reach the semi-finals.

Sprinters Dina Asher-Smith, Daryll Neita, and Imani-Lara Lansiquot advanced to the women's 100m semi-finals, scheduled for Saturday, with the final later that evening.

Morgan Lake, who placed fourth at last year's World Championships, missed out on the women's high jump final with a best clearance of 1.88m.
