Britain's Molly Caudery claimed the pole vault title at the World Athletics Continental Tour event in the Czech Republic, achieving the best mark in the world this year.

Molly Caudery, 24, cleared 4.84m at the Ostrava Golden Spike, marking the highest women’s outdoor vault in the world so far in 2024. The world indoor champion attempted but failed twice to set a new national record of 4.92m.

2016 Olympic champion Katerina Stefanidi finished second, 20cm behind Caudery.

In the men’s pole vault, Sweden's Armand Duplantis won by clearing 6.00m but narrowly missed breaking the outdoor world record at 6.25m.

In other events, Britain's Lina Nielsen came second in the women's 400m hurdles, behind the Netherlands' Cathelijn Peeters. Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake finished third in the men's 200m, won by Canada's Andre de Grasse, who also took the 100m title.
