GB Sevens Skipper Brown 'Devastated' Over Olympic Absence.

Abbie Brown, the captain of GB Sevens, expressed her deep sadness and disappointment at missing the Paris Olympics due to a hamstring injury.

Brown aimed to become the first British rugby player to compete in three Olympics, alongside Wales' Jasmine Joyce, but an injury dashed her hopes. She narrowly missed bronze in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, placing fourth both times.

Expressing her emotions on social media, Brown called it one of the toughest periods of her career. She's heartbroken and devastated but is looking forward to cheering on her teammates this summer.

The women's sevens event begins on July 28, while the GB men's team is vying to qualify through the Olympic repechage tournament in Monaco this weekend.
