Abi Galpin made history by becoming the fastest woman from Guernsey to complete the 400m in under 55 seconds.
In a thrilling display of speed and skill, 23-year-old Abi Galpin has once again left her mark on the track.
At Footes Lane on a Sunday to remember, she blazed past her own island record, slicing off 0.26 seconds to achieve a breathtaking time of 54.96 seconds in the 400m.
But that wasn't the only record to fall. Abi's phenomenal performance also shattered the Guernsey all-comers record previously held by England's Emma Alderson since 2018, proving that she's not just a local sensation but a force to be reckoned with on a larger stage.
Abi's track prowess extends beyond the 400m. She's a decorated athlete, claiming gold in the 200m and silver in the 100m at last year's Island Games. Her talent also carried her to the semi-finals of the 200m at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, showcasing her versatility and speed across different distances.
With this latest achievement, Abi Galpin now holds the Guernsey record across a range of distances from the explosive 60m sprint to the demanding 400m dash.
Her journey is a testament to hard work, dedication, and the pursuit of excellence in athletics.
